Welcome to Year 6 Ash and Oak Class pages. We are taught by Miss Lydia Regan and Miss Sarah Kuczaj and supported by Miss Emily Heard and Mrs Ann Billing.
Summer Term - What will we be learning about?
This term Year 6 what life was like in the Victorian times. We will look closely at what life was like for both rich and poor children including diet, schooling, housing and work.
During the Spring term, our text based English lessons will be based around the text 'Street Child'.
We will be perfecting our problem solving skills this term by designing our own theme park with a strict budget and following certain criteria. We will also be looking at using calculators to solve complex problems in order to prepare children for secondary school.
This term our topic will be Evolution and Inheritance and Electricity. During our electricity topic, we will be designing and making a moving Victorian carousel.
Llandudno Trip - 21st June
We will be going to Llandudno for our end of year trip. On the trip we will be walking down the pier, taking the tram up the Great Orme where we will eat our picnic and then playing on the beach before having chips and coming home. Please try to get all permission slips and money in by Friday 8th June so that we can be sure the trip will go ahead :).
We are so pleased that so many of you have signed up to our new 'Class Dojo' reward system. Any messages sent via the app will be read however won't be responded to. Should you have any urgent queries please pop in to see your child's teacher.
Here are the songs for the KS2 production. Please practise these at home to make rehearsals run smoothly :)
