Welcome to Year 6 Ash and Oak Class pages. We are taught by Miss Lydia Regan and Miss Sarah Kuczaj and supported by Miss Emily Heard and Mrs Ann Billing.

Spring Term - What will we be learning about?

This term Year 6 will be learning all about WW2. We will look into the history of WW2 and why it all began as well as finding out about war-time Britain and how it compared to life today.

During the Spring term, our text based English lessons will be based around the text The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas written by John Boyne which has a direct link with our WW2 topic.

This term we will be mastering the following topics:

 - Percentages, fractions and decimals

- Algebra

This term our topic will be Animals including humans. Through this topic we will be learning about the circulatory system as well as the importance of a healthy lifestyle and how this impacts on the functioning of the human body.

World Book Day

The author we will be focussing on for world book day is Roald Dahl . In the lead up to world book day, we will exploring a variety of texts written by our chosen author. Below is a link to the Roald Dahl website.

Although the classes will be looking at texts written by Roald Dahl, this does not mean that they are required to dress up as a character from Roald Dahl books - they are able to choose any book character!
