Year 1 Birch and Year 1 Hawthorn Classes

Welcome to Year 1 Birch and Hawthorn classes. We are taught by Miss Charlotte Hathaway and Mr James Sidebottom. We are supported in our learning by Mrs Emma Kidd and Mrs Nicola Francis.

Diary Dates

  • Week Commencing 25. 6. 18 - This week, hot and sunny weather has been forecast (yay!). Please ensure your child has sun cream, a sunhat and a water bottle in school.
  • Chester Zoo Trip - Thursday 28th June 2018 - We are very excited for our Year 1 trip to Chester Zoo on Thursday. As discussed above, it is essential that your child brings sun cream, a sunhat and a water bottle along for the trip. Children are still required to wear their school uniform, but are welcome to wear comfortable, appropriate footwear to walk around the zoo.

What we are learning...

The Summer Term topic is called 'Animals of the world'. We will be recognising and describing mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish in preparation for our trip to Chester Zoo on Thursday 28th June.

Helping your child at home...

Learning through song...

We love to learn through song in Y1. Here are some great songs to further your child's understanding of the curriculum.

A Quick Reminder!

Please can you make sure your child's name/initials have been written on the label/inside their school jumpers and t-shirts. It is extremely difficult to locate an owner for lost uniform without a name!

Many thanks,
